The Aquaponics Map is a map of Backyard Aquaponics System locations throughout the world. The purpose of the Aquaponics Map is to make it easy for Aquapionic enthusiasts to locate each other in order to meet-up and exchange ideas.
To view the map, click on the state from the available options on the left hand side. If a state is not currently listed, it means that we do not have any aquaponics systems listed in that state yet.
To protect peoples privacy, we recommend that locations don't contain a street name, simply suburb/state/country.
In the description of each location you should find contact details for that person. Nicknames at discussion forums or e-mail addresses are generally used. If a nickname at a forum is used, to contact that person, log onto the forum and send the person a PM (personal message). The popular Aquaponics discussion forums are Practical Aquaponics, Aquaponics HQ and Backyard Aquaponics in Australia and DIY Aquaponics in the USA.
Add your aquaponics system to the map
To add your own aquaponics system (or planned system!) to the map, please follow these directions -
1. Create an account (or login if you have already created one)
2. Go to your Country/State map - if yours does not exist yet, simply add your entry to this map and we will create your state using your entry.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and complete your details in the Add destination section. In the description of your system (or planned system!), please include your contact details.
4. Your listing will become live immediately!
My state is not listed. Why not?
The Aquaponics Map just started in June 2009 - if a state is not listed, it means we currently have no aquaponic systems listed in that state. If you want to add a listing and your state does not exist, simply add your listing on this map - as soon as we review your listing we will create your state map and move your listing to it.
Future improvements of the Aquaponics Map
We are looking at constantly improving the Aquaponics Map to become a very useful Aquaponics tool. Some of the ideas include -
- Include an "Aquaponics Events" listing on the homepage with markers on the map. Allows people to easily see if there are any open days or training days (or other AP related events) coming up in their area.
- The ability to notify people of an upcoming Aquaponics event in their state.
- Include suppliers of Aquaponic Systems (as a different colored marker) on the map
